Training goals

Highlights description

All doctoral researchers will follow seven training modules during the Inter-oPEn.

In the first year, the doctoral researchers start with three basic trainings (TM1, TM2, TM3) adapted to their previous knowledge. In order to ensure interdisciplinarity from the beginning, these trainings involve the doctoral candidates in explaining their work to other domains. The training modules are an introduction to power electronics, the software needed for resilient grids, the legal and regulatory framework as well as the IP law needed for open source power electronics.

The training modules that follow the basic training (TM4, TM5, TM6) aim to make the most of the knowledge and skills acquired in the different PhD programmes. This includes an increased emphasis on interdisciplinarity, system complexity and how to make good recommendations. Training modules TM4, TM5 and TM6 will be supported by industry input from the associated partners.

The final training module (TM7) bridges the project results with society’s expectations for independent, equal and accessible energy in a diverse Europe. In addition, TM7 is a chosen end to remind the PhD students of the societal aspects before starting their careers in industry or academia.

In addition to the training modules, each consortium partner aims to train the doctoral researchers in the skills and knowledge required for the doctoral projects through local and customised workshops.

The training modules are described in detail here.

All training modules are open to other local researchers and guests.
