The Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences runs 80 Bachelor and Master programs with 12000 students. The Electrical Engineering Faculty runs 3 Bachelor and 1 Master program. Among all other electrical disciplines a specialization in Electrical Power Systems is installed involving laboratory scaled AC and DC grids and extensive use of real-time simulators.
Other major installations involve laboratories with high voltage generators up to 1000 kV, electrical machines and power electronics.
A doctoral student will use the real-time simulator based test rig for
power transmission and distribution.
