Open science

Resource description

🚧 works in progress 🚧

Open Science is at the core of Inter-oPEn. The project aims precisely at by-passing present barriers to knowledge sharing on PE components and architectures and enable their interoperability by astute resorting to Open Science means. Open research is the foundation of advancing EU research and fostering innovation.

Openness starts with free access to resources, from basic knowledge (Wikipedia) to scientific papers (e.g. arXiv), i.e. the ability to read them. Open access is mainly about data. Open source is mainly about software.

Though access, transparency and usage are fostered with “open” resources, authors’s and owners’ Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) are still preserved: the users’ rights to access, read, use, implement, copy and/or modify the material are governed by different licenses, refined/reviewed/approved especially by the Open Source Initiative or the Free Software Foundation.
