Doctoral Candidates start their Research Projects: Project Kick-Off in Aachen from 21^st to 24^th January 2025!

The project kick-off in Aachen from 21^st to 24^th  January 2025 marks the official start of Inter-oPEn, a Doctoral Network composed of 10 researchers and 21 project partners in total.

After a getting to know each other, participants will explore various sessions with a foundational focus on open-source software for resilient grids, renewable energy integration, HVDC converter control, and governance and intellectual property in energy systems over four days.

Inter-oPEn offers Doctoral Candidates a unique opportunity to gain expertise in three key areas: engineering for interoperability, resilient system integration, and legal/regulatory enablers. The Doctoral Candidates will learn to address complex challenges in modern power systems through a combination of technical and interdisciplinary training. They will also benefit from collaboration with academic and industrial experts. This kick-off sets the foundation for their research and provides valuable insights into the technical and regulatory aspects of the energy transition.
