Topic of Doctoral Thesis

Governance of Multimodal Electricity Grid

Objectives

Goal: Development of regulatory model for regulating the governance, liabilities and procurement of multi- modal electricity grid.

Societal relevance: Stimulate investments from TSOs and Companies and provide a higher level of protec- tion as desired by NRA.

Scope: Legal/regulatory framework for cross-border electricity grids, procurement, competition and liability, and related policy documents.

The methodology will be a combination of doctrinal research (Systematisation and analysis of existing pri- mary and secondary sources) and legal empirical research (stakeholders perspectives ex ante (based on actual regulatory field and practice) and ex post (based on model)).

Secondments

Academic: TUBS, Dr. Melanie Hoffmann, 3-6 months, purpose: exchange regulatory viewpoint with functional modelling methodology

Industrial: TNG, Jens Langenbecker, 3-6 months, purpose: implement TSO view into governance framework

I am highly motivated to contribute to the legal framework that supports interoperability within the future meshed offshore grid.
