Deliverable 3.1 “Towards components engineered for swift interoperability – Status report” (KTH)
The rapid growth of converter-based resources in modern power systems, including HVDC links, offshore wind, and battery storage, introduces new challenges for interoperability. Unlike synchronous machines, power electronic converters rely on proprietary control and protection software, creating tension between the openness required for multi-vendor procurement and the confidentiality that vendors need to protect intellectual property.
